New Media English Training
Hi and Welcome!
English second/foreign language teaching,
as well as Corporate Language Training combined with New Media and Social Media use sum up why I have put this site up.
E-Notebooks for Language Training
New Media English Training is an ongoing project with my own English language students as I include CMC (computer mediated communications) in their English language syllabus so that they can use it effectively in their jobs, studies and life.
I have created a website for each student, installed WordPress and gave them the basic instructions on how to make posts. But instead of calling their site a blog – which many of them shy away from – I call their various sites, “eNotebooks“. This name fits best my reason for creating their individual sites which we use to keep their digital writings, audios and videos, as well as a place where they can get hands on experience with blogging and commenting, audio and video presentations, interviews, etc.
Most students wish their sites to stay private so that they can practice and experiment with their English… so that is why you do not see any links in my Blogroll to their sites.
But for ESL/EFL/ESOL language teachers & tutors, as well as corporate language trainers, New Media English Training can offer more.
New media and social media offer these teaching, consulting and coaching professionals the opportunity to use these means as educational content and instruments or tools in their lesson plans, and as marketing tools for the language professionals - for language teaching, training and consulting is a service and a business.

This sounds great! I sadly have no idea how this site is laid out and how you can contribute. Please let me know!
Thanks,
Friederike
Thanks Friederike for dropping by http://www.NewMediaEnglishTraining.com and for leaving a comment.
When you visited this site, it was still being set up and arranged and a busy teaching schedule got a bit in the way….
However, since reading your comment, I have been working on ways that I can share what I am doing and learning with other interested people. For this reason I am currently setting up an eZine, “The Sidewalk Cafe” where we can virtually sit and chat about our experiences in using new media and social media in English language teaching and learning.
I have updated the “”About”" page to give more information on where you can find more information. At this time, I do not have plans to be active at this site for the general public, but rather for my students to help them as they work on their “eNotebooks“. (However, life does have a way of jumping in and changing all one’s plans…. )
Again thank you for visiting and leaving a comment.
All the best,
Eileen
